Well it has been a while hasn't it but we are back. Thought not all of us are 100%, poor Buddy has the kiddie flu and is not a happy camper. Now mum has a clingy wee man to give plenty of cuddles too and a little miss who is set to wake up from her nap any minute. 

So it's time to go into crafty mum mode and set out some fun for Button that she can do on her own while I sit with Buddy all snuggled up.
A few favourites came out, ziplock painting, those good old motor skills activities are always a winner. We had some ribbons in a bottle, two tubs, a peg and some cotton balls and connect 4. Add some crayons, paper and envelopes and she should be a busy little Button. 

Oh and mum set out the Trunkie for a ride every so often so she didn't think I was ignoring her.

Great job mum, it worked and Buddy started to feel better suddenly with all these fun activities for him and Button to get stuck in to.

Catch Up : Papercuts, tantrums, a road trip and a wedding

After months of hard work making a lot of paper flowers for a friends wedding the day finally arrived. We had a wee drive to Cromwell but looking forward to the journey with Buddy & Button. 

I made flowers for Button's first birthday and now I got to do a whole bridal party. I love making them and hope I get to do it again.

 We had a few tired tantrums along the way but Buddy and Button had a great time and looked so cute.

Buddy was especially excited as his girlfriend Lily was beside him the whole night.

As most parents at a wedding we were busy, busy, busy (my heels got taken off too early), but they had so much fun.

We had some great family fun and in such a wonderful setting.

Rainy Day Safari

It's the start of the Easter break here in New Zealand and we are of to a very wet and windy start. I am very glad I don't have to walk out in this weather but here comes the task of keeping these two balls of energy entertained.  An early start as usual and out come the tape, ball pit and tent maze to make a big obstacle course. This kept them busy for an hour but now for something different, we are going on a safari.

I gathered up our animal toys and placed them around the house. Got a toilet roll for a telescope (it was recycling day yesterday so didn't have another for binoculars) and off we went.

And finally as you can see here, we found little miss Button in her natural habitat. We dare not go any closer.

It's only 10am, it is going to be a long day.

Fingerprint Seasons

Buddy has been really interested in learning about seasons and I've been itching to use the inks I have in my art box. So with four little canvases I drew on four trees and Buddy used what colours we had to put leaves on the trees.

Buddy wanted two little owls, we thought it would be great for the winter tree.

 Great wee addition to Buddy's wall and lots of fun.

Afternoon

Busy day but everyone is home, dad is making dinner, Buddy is on the computer learning Spanish (telling me to go away) and mum is chasing Button around with her camera. Just another day.

From the high seas to the skies

It's been a TARDIS, a pirate ship and finally I attempted a rocket for our little astronaut. Buddy loves learning about space and the solar system and with the pirate ship on it's last leg it was in need of a makeover. 

The top of the rocket was awful, such an annoying thing to do on your own, I suggest two pairs for hands! 

 I was a bit lazy with this one and only painted the front, but still looks great!

 The sun is out so taking advantage of it to get it dry for Buddy coming home from kindy.

Add a few details, set it up in his room with some stars to boot and we are ready for Buddy.

 He was so excited when I picked him up and told him there was a big surprise in his room.

Buddy & Button are having an adventure in space, I'm not allowed to go but I got a thumbs up and a smile.
